Fort Liberty, North Carolina, is a military installation of the United States Army in North Carolina. Fort Liberty is one of the largest military installations in the world, with about 54,000 military personnel. Located within Cumberland, Hoke, Harnett, and Moore counties, it borders the towns of Fayetteville, Spring Lake, and Southern Pines. Fort Liberty maintains two airfields: Pope Field and Simmons Army Airfield. The United States Air Force stations global airlift and special operations assets as well as the Air Force Combat Control School. Army aviation units support the needs of airborne and special operations forces on post from Simmons Army Airfield.

Fort Liberty covers over 250 square miles and is the home of the Army’s XVIII Airborne Corps and is the headquarters of the United States Army Special Operations Command. Fort Liberty is also home to the U.S. Army Forces Command, U.S. Army Reserve Command, and Womack Army Medical Center

The installation is named Fort Liberty because liberty remains the greatest American value according to Retired U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Ty Seidule, a member of the renaming commission, in 2022.

Nearby Fayetteville is also the home of the Airborne and Special Operations Museum which honors those paratroopers and special operators, past and present, who have called Fort Liberty home.
